A scientifically grounded revival of history: Are you ready for an immersive journey through the 16th to 19th centuries?

🔴 Ulugh Beg’s cosmic legacy will come to life before your very eyes!

At the Museum Exhibition of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the immersive show will transform you from a mere observer into an active participant in history.

At the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, practical efforts to present historical events from the 16th to 19th centuries through scientific, visual, and technological approaches are progressing rapidly. In a recent round of discussions between the Center’s scholars and designers, key concepts were analyzed to ensure this era is conveyed comprehensively, authentically, and with emotional impact.

Despite the proposed design options, the Center’s academic team firmly upheld their commitment to historical accuracy and source-based interpretation as the guiding priority.

During the discussions, it was emphasized that the contributions of five major dynasties in the Turkestan region — the Shaybanids, Ashtarkhanids, Mangits, Qongirats, and Mings — must be fully represented, particularly their achievements in education, science, the arts, and architecture.

As Dr. Dilnoza Jamolova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, noted, to deeply reflect the spiritual life of the Ashtarkhanid period, the architecture of Nadir Devonbegi’s madrasa — especially its grand portal — should be given a prominent symbolic place in the exhibition. Additionally, waqf documents, epigraphic inscriptions, and information about leading scholars and reformers of the era will be presented to the public based on in-depth analysis.

As a result of these debates, the designers also came to fully understand the historical content and affirmed their firm commitment to preserving historical authenticity while expressing the exhibition in a modern and aesthetically compelling form.

Can science be felt? — The immersive show answers this question

One of the most innovative parts of the museum exhibition is the immersive show zone. Here, visitors do not merely observe history — they feel it. Currently, technical discussions are underway in collaboration with specialized experts to bring this show to life.

The central idea of the show is to vividly and technologically visualize the Second Renaissance period through the scientific achievements of Mirzo Ulugh Beg. Viewers will enter a cosmic environment, experiencing the motion of stars, planets, and Ulugh Beg’s astrolabe-based calculations through powerful audiovisual effects.

At the same time, the exhibition will also bring to life historical architectural masterpieces, construction traditions, and the spiritual atmosphere of the era with a high level of realism.

Scientific accuracy and artistic expression — the foundation of the Center’s concept

The exhibition is designed not only to convey history through visual and aesthetic means, but also to serve as a source of knowledge. The harmony of content and form has been established as a key criterion in every project undertaken by the Center. At the conclusion of the meeting, scholars and design teams reached a unanimous consensus.
