“This center will become another palace of science and enlightenment in the world”, said IRCICA’s representative for Central Asia

Although the project - the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, being built in Tashkent and unique in the world has not yet been officially opened, interest in it is growing day by day. The center attracts attention not only from the population of our country but also from international organizations and foreign scholars.

At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Professor Jalal Said Hafnawi from Cairo University’s Department of Oriental Languages, the representative of IRCICA for Central Asia, Doctor of Historical Sciences Ashirbek Muminov, and other historians visited to get acquainted with this grand complex.

The guests closely examined the building of the center, the museum exhibition, and its contents. They noted that the complex, built on nearly 10 hectares, harmoniously complements the nearby Hazrati Imam Mosque, the Tashkent Islamic Institute named after Imam Bukhari, and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

Professor Jalal Said Al-Hafnawi shared his impressions:

“This center is not just an ordinary complex. I have not seen a place like this in other countries. The architecture here, the Qur’anic verses, and the doors reminiscent of the Haram in Mecca all are unique. In this place, the legacy of your great figures such as Amir Temur, Ulugh Beg, Imam Bukhari, and Imam Termiziy is glorified. I felt as if I was reborn into a new world!”

It was also announced that on the second floor of the center, special rooms will be allocated for prestigious international organizations such as ICESCO, UNESCO, TURKSOY, and IRCICA.

Ashirbek Muminov also shared his thoughts, emphasizing that the content of the exhibition is scientifically coherent and fully covers the stages of development:

“This center will become another palace of science and enlightenment in the world. The ideas about the First and Second Renaissance are an important concept not only for Central Asia but for the entire Islamic East”.

The participants of the visit highly praised Uzbekistan’s state policy and ongoing reforms aimed at the development of science, education, and culture.
