A new scientific and cultural chapter is opening between Uzbekistan and Iran

Today, a meeting was held at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent with a distinguished delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The participants included Saeed Amir Karami, Cultural Affairs Advisor at the Iranian Embassy, Dr. Mohammad Hadi Fallahzadeh, Rector of the International University of Islamic Sects, Dr. Odil Khani, Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Dr. Yahya Jahangiri, as well as the leadership and scholars of the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan.
In the opening remarks, the leadership of the Center emphasized the importance of cultural, scientific, and educational cooperation between the two countries. It was noted that the spiritual bonds connecting Uzbekistan and Iran for centuries are now reaching a new stage.
Priority directions
Several initiatives were proposed during the meeting:
➖ cooperation in education and joint research,
➖ exchange programs between universities,
➖ organizing joint cultural events and exhibitions,
➖ publishing works in Persian and Uzbek,
➖ joint projects on studying and popularizing cultural heritage.
Language was highlighted as a key bridge between peoples and civilizations. Initiatives in education and publishing will strengthen the cultural closeness between the peoples of the two countries and deepen bonds of friendship.
International cooperation and new plans
Discussions also covered cooperation in modern science and Islamic studies, the promotion of peace and fraternity, signing new memoranda, and organizing scientific expeditions.
Dr. Mohammad Hadi Fallahzadeh stated:
“I saw that this Center embodies religious, historical, and scientific values in harmony. The building is magnificent, reflecting the entire history of statehood. The ideas of a ‘Historic Uzbekistan’ and ‘Scientific Uzbekistan’ form a solid foundation for cooperation. If we collaborate in the scientific, educational, and publishing spheres, it will benefit both sides”.

The results of the meeting demonstrated that relations between Uzbekistan and Iran are developing consistently not only in the economic sphere but also in cultural and spiritual areas. New opportunities have opened up to make the work of prestigious institutions like the Center of Islamic Civilization more effective and to expand the scope of cooperation.
