The Eastern Islamic world is ready to be presented to the entire world in a beautiful image thanks to Shavkat Mirziyoyev – Lamine Tamssaout

Lamine Tamssaout, researcher at the Manuscripts Department of the National Library of France:

For many years I have dreamed of seeing Uzbekistan, or more precisely, the center of the Islamic world.

When we speak of the center of Islam or the center of civilization, Uzbekistan immediately comes to mind. Whether it is Tashkent or Samarkand – these are the places that have preserved history, and the great civilization that has kept this history hidden is now gradually coming to light thanks to this Center.

The Eastern Islamic world, which was once known through a somewhat incorrect perception, is now ready to be presented to the whole world in a beautiful image thanks to this magnificent Center founded by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. I think this place will especially become a space where people from all over the world will gather and exchange ideas in the fields of art, science, and knowledge.

From the entrance to the library, every part of the Center fascinated me — both its architecture and its building. I personally study old literary miniatures. When I went inside, I felt as if I had stepped right into those miniatures.

The library especially impressed me. Because it is not just a library, but also a place where young people can spend good and meaningful time. It is not only stocked with books, but it is also built and equipped with modern technologies. I was truly amazed by this, although I was confident you would accomplish it.

I also study manuscript works. Since I only came for two days, I did not have the chance to see them, but I sincerely wished to. Certainly, after the manuscript section is established, we will come back here again.

We believe that together we will implement even more beautiful projects and achieve even better cooperation.
