An electronic exhibition system compliant with international standards will be introduced

Active work is underway to digitize the collection of the Museum of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and to implement an electronic exhibition system in accordance with international standards. In addition, the creation of the “Museum Exhibition Catalogue of the Center for Islamic Civilization” is in progress, through which each exhibit is expected to be brought to life via a QR code.
Under the leadership of the Director of the Center and Chairman of the Scientific Council, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, the recent meeting of the Scientific Council discussed the issue of digitizing the museum’s collection and introducing an electronic exhibition system that meets international standards. Shavkat Sultanov, head of “Art Vernissage” LLC, provided detailed information about the project to digitize more than 1,600 exhibits housed in the Museum of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, in full compliance with international ISO evaluation standards.

Within the framework of this project, the scientific description, historical source, dimensions, preservation condition, and artistic value of each exhibit will be entered into a digital database. Every item will be linked to an electronic exhibition program accessible via a QR code. This system will allow not only researchers but also visitors to obtain in-depth and accurate information about each exhibit. Moreover, work has also begun on creating the “Museum Exhibition Catalogue of the Center for Islamic Civilization,” which will include all exhibits with high-quality photographs, detailed descriptions, and historical annotations. According to Sultanov, this initiative marks an important step toward ensuring scientific transparency, preserving digital heritage, and developing an international information exchange system within the Center’s activities.
Members of the Scientific Council unanimously approved this project and recognized it as a significant stage in the Center’s path of innovative development.
