“Global processes are powerless in the face of Uzbekistan’s historical foundations” — A Russian deputy’s unexpected conclusion

At a time when the world is entering a new era of trials, Uzbekistan’s historical foundation is becoming even more prominent. According to Alexander Babakov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Uzbekistan’s historical roots and powerful cultural foundation are so stable that even today’s global processes appear powerless in the face of their strength.

When President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation stone of the Center of Islamic Civilization during the month of Ramadan in 2018, he emphasized: “The purpose of building this center is to study Islamic enlightenment and to deliver the great heritage of our ancestors to our people and the global community. God willing, our efforts will create a foundation for the education and upbringing of youth, for science, culture, and peace and stability.”

Years later, this Center has indeed been built as a prestigious scientific and educational institution that has brought together the centuries-old intellectual and spiritual heritage of our people, brought it to life through modern technologies, and gained recognition on a global scale. Today, it not only reflects the proud history of the Uzbek people, but also has become a place of enlightenment, science, and culture for delegations visiting from various countries.

Delegations from different parts of the world, including the USA, France, Poland, Nigeria, China, and Türkiye, who have been visiting the Center, have already witnessed this achievement and are acknowledging the greatness of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative and vision.

In particular, Alexander Babakov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, noted during his visit to the Center that this idea, implemented on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is an invaluable value not only for Uzbekistan, but for the entire region.

During their visit, the Russian delegation led by Alexander Babakov became thoroughly acquainted with the museum’s main exhibitions, sections dedicated to different periods of Islamic civilization, the collection of ancient manuscripts, and scientific and educational content created with the help of modern multimedia technologies.

Alexander Babakov shared his impressions of the Center:

“I must especially emphasize that this idea, implemented on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is an invaluable value not only for Uzbekistan, but for the entire region. A person who enters here not only gains knowledge, but also feels the breath of ancient civilization. He deeply understands that in the past this land was a center of great statehood, strong traditions, and science. The roots of Uzbekistan’s history are so high and strong that the processes taking place in today’s world appear powerless in the face of these cultural foundations. It certainly deserves respect, recognition, and wide promotion.

I am confident that this Center will live, develop, and serve as an example for other nations as well. Respecting one’s history, preserving it, understanding it, and passing it on properly to future generations is embodied here as a profound philosophy. The leadership of Uzbekistan is strengthening exactly this foundation and correctly determining the country’s future path of development. When a person understands his history, he steps into the future with confidence. I wish Uzbekistan great success.”

This visit of the Russian delegation became another high international recognition of the Center’s activities.
