More than 30 countries’ international law experts embarked on an extraordinary journey through unique pages of history in Tashkent
Representatives of 34 countries, including Morocco, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and several others, visited the unique scientific and educational complex the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as part of the international conference on ensuring the rule of law under modern global challenges held in Tashkent.

The participants of the international scientific-practical conference “Ensuring the Rule of Law under Modern Challenges: Problems and Solutions,” dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of Law Enforcement of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Islamic Civilization Center a major national project initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Legal experts were introduced to the Center’s scholarly, cultural, and spiritual treasures.
Nigar Qalandarli, Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Azerbaijan):
I witnessed that this place is a unique scientific and educational center that unites the deep cultural roots of the East, the rich heritage of Islamic civilization, and the centuries-old history of the region. It was a great pleasure to be among the first to visit.
The delicate frescoes, artistic depictions, and historical scenes in the museum reflect a unique harmony between the ancient and modern cultures. The atmosphere created here makes one feel as though they are traveling through the deepest layers of history.
What impressed me most was the covering of the Kaaba displayed in the exhibition. I have previously visited Mecca and the Kaaba. Seeing the covering here allowed me to relive that pure and sacred feeling something incomparable. I am grateful to those who established the Center, as they gave me the chance to feel this spiritual essence once again.
The Center also serves as a spiritual bridge connecting East and West, blending different historical periods, cultural layers, and modern scientific approaches in a way that speaks to a broad international audience.
During the visit, members of the delegation were shown ancient regions of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, along with the cultural and historical heritage formed in these areas.
According to Nigar Qalandarli, this approach is another vivid demonstration of the shared Turkic history.
She emphasized the Center’s role in educating the younger generation every young visitor can see and feel history, understand their identity, and appreciate the priceless heritage presented here.
“This Center cannot be visited only once. I will certainly recommend it to my colleagues in other countries. I myself plan to return with my family to once again experience its rich heritage,” the Azerbaijani legal scholar concluded.
Delegation members expressed their satisfaction and wished success to the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, built under the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Khadicha Elmadmad, Doctor of Law and Professor at the University of Casablanca (Morocco):
I was very pleased to learn that the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan was established on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The part that moved me the most was the exhibition displaying the covering of the Kaaba. It felt as if the Kaaba itself had come here. This is incredibly powerful. Those who cannot visit Mecca may at least come here and feel its sacredness. This approach is truly noble.
I can say that Moroccans are now discovering Uzbekistan many have begun visiting as tourists. I was also planning to come in April. The works of Imam al-Bukhari, especially the Sahih, are deeply respected in our country. For us, visiting his mausoleum and places like your Center is a great honor.
I will share my impressions not only in my academic work but also with my family. This visit was unforgettable for me. My sincere thanks to you.

Gulnar Bakhtiyor kyzy, Senior Prosecutor of the Committee of Legal Statistics of Kazakhstan:
My impressions of the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan are extremely positive. Presenting the entire culture of Central Asia in one integrated museum through profound transformation is undoubtedly a unique idea truly a work of genius. Every artifact displayed here deserves special respect.
I would like to highlight the coin collections in the exhibition. According to Kazakhstan’s five-volume national history, ancient coins and the early formation of currency systems are among the key indicators of a nation’s sovereignty. In this sense, the economic and cultural characteristics of this region over centuries are reflected here with great clarity.
These exhibitions are presented systematically and vividly. Of course, history cannot be recreated it does not repeat itself. But through archaeological discoveries and scientific research, we reconstruct its fragments like a mosaic. Therefore, the artifacts presented here represent a monumental effort to harmonize Uzbekistan’s entire civilizational heritage within a single space. This Center, established by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, left a profound impression on me. I am truly amazed.
The working principle of the museum blending historical artifacts with modern technology deserves special recognition. The exhibits are not only displayed but also brought to life through integration and digital interpretation. I also noticed the use of artificial intelligence. This beautifully harmonized synthesis of modern technology and ancient history is highly impressive.
The museum evokes deep reflection: things we once considered secondary often turn out to be of primary value. Our perspectives evolve over time.
We speak to both East and West, but ultimately, we are the inheritors of an Eastern cultural legacy. Our duty is to interpret this heritage correctly and transmit it to future generations.
One could speak endlessly about this museum. Honestly, I did not imagine such a grand institution could exist. It could even be compared with the Hermitage of course, not in full equivalence, but the impression it gave me was on that scale. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.

Gholibjon Sanavarzoda, Doctor of Law (Tajikistan):
I am deeply impressed by the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan. Each section provides detailed, structured information not only about Islamic history but also about the formation and development of all Central Asian countries. This systematic presentation of history by regions amazed me.
One of the aspects I liked most is the presence of unique collections brought from Saudi Arabia and Mecca, including extremely rare and spiritually significant artifacts.
Moreover, the Center’s digital and technological approach impressed me even further. The display of historical monuments, architectural sources, and ancient manuscripts combined with digital revitalization is extraordinary. The interactive presentations of historical processes using advanced technologies reflect a remarkable synthesis of scholarship and innovation.
I can confidently say that I am very pleased. The wealth preserved here belongs not only to Uzbekistan but to all of Central Asia, and even to the global academic and cultural community. My sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to creating and elevating this Center, established under the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
